Happy birthday! (Sorry for being late!) I know things have been rough, so I hope life starts settling down for you.
thank you so much c: I'm really really hoping things start to calm soon. I need about a year with no wild health emergencies for anyone in the family. That would be nice lol
happy birthday! hope you got treated to something nice :)
thank you! honestly my husband's birthday is next month so i think we're going to hold off and celebrate together. but he said that when finances balance out he's going to get me this discontinued orange cat from build-a-bear :)
Happy Birthday! I hope it is fun/restful and you get to eat something yummy
Thank you! I made some homemade lo-mein/curry stuff and it was really good c:
Sorry if this is unsolicited but uh. Here's my two cents on the artstyle thing: firstly, art is just Like That- you can do it for decades and its never gonna get simpler bcs you're constantly improving and raising your personal bar; secondly, having a set style is only really useful if you're trying to make money off your art and need some sort of trademark. And even then versatility is appreciated so really - just go ham. Do whatever style you feel like at the given moment, experiment a ton, have fun. Cos at the end of the day who even cares as long as you have fun exploring?
(Not to mention that even when you're copying a style there's still gonna be a personal touch of yours present in it. It's just inevitable. Which in turn means that no matter how much you switch around there's gonna be some thread of cohesion to it.)
This is really nice tbh. And I'll always be happy with nice advice c:
Tbh you're right too I'm not trying to become an artist as a job or anything I just like to draw stuff and I just want to be good enough to kind of hang my own stuff up around the house sometimes?
I guess I just kind of assume that everyone immediately had their drawing style figured out right when they started drawing and I was just kind of lagging behind in that? But this message and a lot of the comments on that post made me realize that it's something you need to work on just as much as you need to practice drawing because a set style just comes with a lot of practice and experience too!
I read the first Bartimaeus book when I was like 11 and I did not understand it at ALL. And then I re-read it and the other two books a couple years ago and it was definitely a lot more intense than I expected from a book in middle school libraries but I LOVED it so much. I own the prequel and I just need to actually read it because I'm very curious about the parts that they just kinda vaguely mention in the original books
And Inkheart has been one of my favorite books of all time for like 15+ years now ♥ I really like the direction they took the sequels in too, but I could read Inkheart as a stand-alone novel and be totally happy and content tbh. I related so much to Meggie as a kid and it was really hard for me to find main characters that were girls and that were also similar to me so I really clung to her and the story.
And I believe you're right about there being like a book of short stories about the world in Eragon? I haven't read it yet but I've heard good things!
I honestly have some books on my shelves that I haven't read in years or at all and I have a list of books I want to rent that I'm very interested in so I'm trying to keep myself from getting caught up reading the same things over and over but these 3 series are some that tempt me the most.
Especially because I have a horrible memory so even if I read a book a year ago there's gonna be stuff that I totally forgot abbout and am blown away by again lol
idk if I've mentioned this before but my photos can always be used for art references and things like that! I'd just like some kind of credit for the orginal photo but I'm very supportive of artists and creativity and I honestly LOVE the idea of anything I post inspiring anyone in any waynaiad
@star-rice that's so nice! I know I would be super awkward asking about something like that so I wanted to just put it out there (and added a little thing to my bio) ^^ I always really enjoy looking at art studies people do and I just adore art in general so I'd love to see anything that is related to my photos that would just be SO cool tbh ♥
If you do decide to give it a go, I would love to see the results!
Has anyone on here heard of or played Dark Cloud? It was my favorite game when I was a kid and I feel like no one else knows what it is lol.naiad
That's amazing xD I love all the little cheesy parts of the game like that! Both games are on the PS4 and I just started the second one for the first time!
I've technically never finished it either because the final boss is incredibly difficult but I've looked it up the ending and there's really nothing extra after you beat that so I count it as a win lmao
I mean honestly it's super cheesy but I've played it like 5 times and it's SUPER nostalgic to me. Here's the wiki for it. It's a dungeon crawler/town decorating game and the story is pretty fun. It holds up alright but I was really young the first time I played it and it was something me and my brother bonded over a lot so I have a deep love for it ♥
@UnidentifiedBlog yeah my problem was really that I don't have any experience with it cause JJ always just sets it all up for me. I really do need to learn to do it myself though so I can fix things on his work days lol
What emulator are you trying to run? Usually the process goes:
Install emulator > download ROM > open/load ROM from its folder
But every emulator can have a different process. Ex: my android emulator needs me to log into the Play store and "install" (download) the app I want to use, and then I open the app from the emulator library, whereas my Gameboy Advance emulator needs me to load the ROM files from the designated folder on my harddrive.
I was trying to find a ps2 emulator and get it running correctly but I only had a vague idea how to do it lol.
Thankfully the husband came home and helped me get it running. But I'm gonna save this message for the future so I remember
I was wondering what your favorite food anime are (anime about food/cooking). Maybe top 5?
so these aren't in any specific order but they're shows that focus on cooking that I love and honestly I've learned a bit about cooking from them as well
There are a few that are like exclusively about cooking that are okaaay but I don't really feel much connection to the characters and I just have a compulsion to watch it for screenshots/to finish the series but I legitimately love the 5 that I mentioned and I watched a couple of them through twice c:
thank you, friend. It really sucks but she's had a bit of time to process it and she's handling it surprisingly well so I think it's kind of easier on the family because she isn't freaking out or anything. She's always been a really chill person and I'm amazed that she's comforting everyone around her still while this is all happening to her
