Music asks!

What's something you've been listening to for years?

Do you work to any music?

I've been listening to Britney Spears sing "...Baby One More Time" since I was about 5-6 years old and I don't plan on stopping lol. I still have that, "Oops...I Did It Again", "Lucky", and "Stronger" on a Zune and listen to them all the time.

I sometimes will play music if I'm drawing something or trying to sew. And I have a couple tiny wireless earbuds and when I work like an actual job I'll use those and an old iPod Nano that has bluetooth and I'll listen to music on the job sometimes. Since I keep my hair so short most of the time though it's hard to be discreet

Orange (what do you like abt sunrises) and white (what's your morning process) for the ask meme? :P

Orange:
the colors of sunrises are so gorgeous and I always love that! Especially because it's always different colors and even if you watch the sunrise from the same spot every day there's so many ways they can look different!

White:
I always take the dogs out right when I wake up since they haven't gone since the night before right before we go to bed. I usually let them out for like 15-45 minutes depending on how early I wake up because when I come back inside with them I'll go wake up my husband so he can start to get ready for work. I give all the animals their breakfast, and then make my breakfast (usually pop tarts or cereal but on Sundays I make bacon and eggs), and then I'll wash off my face with a cotton pad and witch hazel and brush my teeth. JJ goes in to work usually and hour or two after we wake up so we'll spend some time catching up on shows together or run any quick errands we need done and then he leaves around 2 cause he's on the night shift. and then I take the dogs out again for a lot longer if it's a nice day and go about the rest of my day.

lilac - describe a pleasant memory in overly-flowery prose writing.

(I only have a loose idea of what prose writing is? but I think I've got the idea we'll see lol)

The memory I'm thinking of is less of a specific time and more a specific place. Every year from when I was a toddler to when I was just about to become a teen my dad's side of the family would go and visit this lake several hours away from home. It was always a week long camping trip with tents or an RV and so many family members. I have so many vague memories and several very strong memories but it's hard to remember which events were from which years.

The week always seemed to go on for months, but in the good kind of way that time drags by. There were a few beaches and several playgrounds where you make those friendships that are unique to childhood. Where you can just meet a kid close to your age, play for hours or days, become best friends and cry a little when one of you has to go back home.

So much fishing to be done. The trip was really an excuse for family fishing and just being in the water. My grandpa had a boat. Two of my uncles had boats. There was fishing off the shore, and jumping off boats in the middle of the lake to swim while people fished off the other side or from other boats a little further away. I still have incredibly strong nostalgia for children's life jackets and inflatable arm floaties. We had innertubes and other things to pull behind the speedboats and I still remember all of the times I'd fly through the air in a tube going 30mph and smash into the water only to pop up giggling uncontrollably.

The trip was always right around the 4th of July so we'd get on the pontoon boat my grandpa had and take the whole family out to the middle of the lake to watch the fireworks with the other campers. There weren't any street lights or other forms of light pollution so it would start to get dark and all you could see were a few flashlights and the red emergency lights on some of the boats. They would shoot off the fireworks and we'd just hang out and let everyone else take off while the boat rocked in the waves created by all the other motion on the water.

I'd like to go back someday. I know it wouldn't feel the same as it used to now that I'm an adult. But I think I'd still be able to remember the feelings. Sometimes that's just as good.

Gaming. what videogames have you played

I'm honestly not a huge gamer and I've only more recently been getting into it more so most of the games I've played/am playing are just nostalgic from my childhood but I'll put a little list under a split thing so it doesn't get too long lol

- All 3 original Spyro games (and recently the new versions)

  • Crash Bandicoot 3 Warped, Crash Team Racing (and the new remake), Crash Bash
  • A lot of Ty the Tasmanian Tiger
  • A lot of different Mario games. I've played most Mario Party games, Mario Baseball, a bunch of Super Mario 64, a bunch of Mario Sunshine (both of the last two were games that I kind of played but my brother did most of the hard stuff)
  • I was OBSESSED with one of the old Barbie Horse Adventure games
  • All the Pokemon main games except the last few. I think Sun and Moon was the last one I played and I don't think I ever played Black and White 2. I also didn't play Fire Red or Leaf Green. I did play Stadium, Snap, Coliseum, Gale of Darkness, Pokemon Ranger, and Pokemon Channel (no mystery dungeon)
  • A lot of Nintendogs
  • A lot of the old Sims games and I put a disgusting amount of time into Sims Pets for the DS
  • Banjo Kazooie but it was like some of the Mario games where my brother really put in all the work
  • Dark Cloud and I recently started Dark Cloud 2
  • Oblivion
  • Skyrim
  • Fallout 4 and minimal amounts of New Vegas
  • All 3 Bioshock games but I'm not a fan of Infinite

I'm sure there are some that I'm just not thinking of but these had the biggest impact in my life and are the ones I'd consider faves and either would play again or have played again recently.

I: Internal: Tell us 5 things you like about yourself

  1. I really like how many people have told me little comments about something I saw making their day better in some way. I guess I'm good at encouraging people and that makes me really happy c:
  2. I'm really glad that I'm into such a wide variety of art and styles. Like I've been around people who will see artistic things and just think they're creepy or weird or uncomfortable and I definitely get that way with some stuff but also some art is supposed to make you feel like that? And that goes for fashion too. I'd probably never wear a lot of runway styles but I LOVE how a lot of it looks and it's wild to me when people just talk about how uncomfortable it would be without acknowledging that it's not supposed to be worn to the park, it's an art piece.
  3. I love that I've started knitting and have stuck with it! I usually drop hobbies pretty quickly so finding something that's just very me has been a wonderful thing! I definitely have wayy too much yarn right now xD
  4. I like that reading has always been a hobby of mine. Seeing that all of my siblings really aren't a big fan of books has made me realize how much I could have missed out on if I only watched shows/movies.
  5. I like how much I love animals! I literally would not say that any type of animal is "bad" or "ugly" no matter what they are and I just love every single one of them for how unique they are. I'm not a fan of mosquitos but I think they're fascinating and that goes for all the "pest" animals. They all have their niche and they're just doing their best

9 for the ask game?

Books or movies?
I honestly enjoy both but I think I'd have to say that I like books more. I've always been super into reading and stories in general and books make me focus in a way that's harder to do with movies/tv. I also find that a lot of really popular movies that are based on books seem to miss key details that were inportant in the original stories to make them fit with a wider audience and I'd rather take in a story with a lot of detail over a few weeks/months than watch a movie in a couple hours and miss out on important thing or even characters that get cut out.

I really really love the little chirping sound my cat makes when she's purring or really happy! I guess it's a normal cat thing but I've never actually had another cat that did that and it just makes me so happy to hear her little squeaks and chirps

Formaldehyde: If you could be any fictional character, who would you choose?

This one is hard because a lot of my favorite fictional characters also have pretty tragic lives. It would probably be pretty cool to be Sakrua from Cardcaptor though! She's pretty powerful for an elementary kid and I really like that even after the cards were gathered she got to keep Kero around so it's like you get all the drama and fighting out of the way as a kid and then just get magical powers and a magical friend for the rest of your life lol

The Moon: Favorite quote?

I've always really liked that Dr. Seuss quote:

"Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind"

I've always kinda been the 'weird kid' and this quote always kinda makes me smile because the most important people in my life love me for who I am ^^

Titan: If you could die your hair absolutely any color and pull it off, what would it be?

I would love pink hair! I've tried it a couple times but the bleach always makes it too yellow and then the pink is never dark enough to cover the yellowish hair from the bleach?? Idk I'm sure there's something I could do to fix it because I know other people with naturally dark hair that can go pink but I'm at a loss lol

Callisko, Neptune!

Callisko: What’s your ideal job?
I would love some kind of zookeeper position. Even if I couldn't directly interact with the animals it would be really fun to just see them doing their thing all day at work :3

Neptune: What’s an album that you can listen through entirely w/o skipping song?
Probably the CHVRCHES album Love is Dead. There are like 2 songs on there I'm not a huuuge fan of but I don't dislike listening to them and it's totally worth it for the rest of the album tbh
